Hammerhead in El Bajo

EL BAJO SEA MOUNTS

World famous attraction in the Sea of Cortez, a great spot to dive with hammerheads. Green moray eels stingrays, yellowfin, and other species of pelagic fish found all year long.  Advanced divers only. 60 to 120 ft.

El Bajito Tropical Fish

EL BAJITO

Great dive site year round, weather permitting. Cracks and crevices make it an ideal refuge for tropical fish who breed on this reef. Unprotected from winds.

California Sea Lion in Islotes

LOS ISLOTES SEA LION COLONY

More than 300 friendly and playful California Sea Lions make this an unforgettable experience. Divers and snorkelers enjoy the place all the same. Protected from most prevailing winds. 10 to 75 ft.

Isla Ballena Fish

ISLA BALLENA "WHALE ISLAND"

Caves, crevices, rocky reefs, deep reef with black coral and site of the Aquarius shipwreck. Small island with brown and white pelicans, and seagull nest. Protected from all winds, great all year round.

FANG MING SHIPWRECK

Chinese freighter impounded by the mexican Navy, now first artificial reef in the Mexican pacific. Max depth 70 feet, protected from winds and currents. 

SCUBA diving with squirrel fish

OLD LOBOS ROCK

Beautiful rock formations, sea fans and crevices. No sea lions. Good year round, but unprotected from northern winds. Famous because the big school of Mobula mantas.

Swanne reef

SWANNE REEF

South of Espíritu Santo Island, great third dive with garden eels and schools of fish.  The Salvatierra ferry crashed into it back in 1976, sank very close to the reef.

SALVATIERRA FERRY WRECK

300 feet long ferry boat sank in 1976 after colliding to the Swanne Reef. Always a great dive spot, unprotected from prevailing winds, good for every skillset on the right weather conditions. Max depth 60 feet.

LA REINA
"THE QUEEN"

Reef protuding out of the water three miles north of Cerralvo Island, considered a cleaning station for giant mantas from late July to November. Subject to weather conditions, exposed to winds.

LA REINITA
"LITTLE QUEEN"

Small reef protruding out of the water two miles south of the north end of Cerralvo Island. Right at the edge of very deep underwater canyon, visited by large numbers of pelagic fish. Subject to weather.

Small rock and lighthouse is home to a family of sea lions, it also has good snorkeling and coral population. Very close to Cantamar Hotel, great spot for certification and Discovery dives.
